Wild Honey is one of the most popular brunch spots in Singapore that serves all-day breakfast . It has two branches in Orchard, one in Scotts Square and another one in Mandarin Gallery. After have been to both, i found Scotts Square is better for my liking in all aspects.

Compare to the low ceiling and dim natural light at Mandarin Gellery which makes people feel depressed, the large space with full-size windows with a balcony seating is more relaxing and comfortable. The decor was in a modern European home style, modern and warm. We made an reservation in advance on its website for a Sunday brunch at 11:30am to avoid the long wait, the place was unexpectedly not really crowded – our last visit to Mandarin Gallery on weekends was 30min+ wait!
For drinks, my partner had the fresh orange and i had vegeapple juice – beetroot, carrot and Granny Smith apple.
The signature English breakfast is no doubt the full works – scrambled eggs, back bacon, Cumberland pork sausage, sautéed mushrooms, Dad’s baked beans, breakfast potatoes, grilled vine ripened tomato & signature brioche. The scrambled eggs were smooth and buttery, sausage and bacon were quite flavorful. Different from the breakfast served at most cafes in Singapore, the baked beans were in-house made which was pretty good. Their toasted homemade brioche is always the item i enjoyed the most – warm, crusty outside and soft fluffy inside.
I was so hungry for a nice Shakshouka, thus i ordered another signature breakfast dish, Tunisian. It is a sizzling pan of spicy shakshouka (tomato, onion, red pepper, chilli), studded with Chorizo sausage, crowned with two fried eggs, signature brioche & Israeli salad. It is a very hearty dish of Middle East.
The traditional Tunisian Shakshouka was made of aa thick spicy tomato stew cooked in a skillet. A few eggs are then poached in the tomato stew, served piping hot with some salad and fresh bread (usually pita). The Shakshouka rendition at Wild Honey uses some chorizo to made the dish more textural and flavorful.
I requested the whole-wheat brioche instead of the normal white one which is healthier. The eggs were nicely poached with a runny yolk, the tomato soup base was flavorful, loved to dip the crust bread into the yolky goodness.
I usually went for Norwegian (Avocado, grilled asparagus spears, two perfectly poached eggs wrapped with imported Norwegian smoked salmon, homemade Hollandaise & salmon pearls on our own whole-wheat brioche) but i found the Tunisian a quite delicious one as well. I don’t brunch out a lot as i found brunch is usually overpriced in Singapore, i would rather like to top up more for a set lunch at a fine dining restaurant. In general, we spent a lovely time at Wild Honey Scotts. The service was efficient although it was a busy Sunday morning, the white girl assisted us was very friendly. A lovely place to go for a hearty breakfast.
