Singapore | Pizzeria Mozza, Marina Bay Sands

When i am craving for pizza in Singapore, I always go Pizzeria Monza in Marina Bay Sands mall. Although being considered a tourist attraction

thus the food is slightly pricey, Pizzeria Mozza is possibly a restaurant that is more worth-of-value at Marina Bay Sands.

Maria Batali, the man behind the Mozza restaurant group, is a host of television shows, including ABC’s “The Chew,”. he is also the New York Times Bestselling author of ten cookbooks. Headquated in Los Angels, California, Pizzeria Mozza currently have two restaurants in LA, few yeas ago, Nancy Silverton, Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich decided to bring Pizzeria Mozza to Singapore, as well as its sister Italian fine dining restaurant Osteria Mozza.

Wild mushrooms bruschette, spinach, chiles, aceto balsamico & burrata ($19)

Started with wild mushroom bruschette which is something new at Pizzeria Mozza to both of us. I always love their homemade cheese but the bottom part was hard to eat – creamy Burrata cheese with long chives on crispy baguette, neither the cutleries work. (Not really recommend)

Calamari al forno ($18)

The menu offers a wide range of Italian snacks. As usual, we got the grilled calamari with some well-cooked beans on the bottom. While I found the portion becomes smaller compare to my previous visit. (worth a try)

Fried squash blossoms with homemade ricotta ($16)

All time favorite at Pizzeria Mozza is the fried squash blossoms with homemade ricotta. It is somehow like a well-fried tempura with very thin skin, the homemade ricotta inside was fresh and smooth. The entire bite was not oily at all. (Recommend)

Cauliflower fritti ($16)

Anthoer (deep-fried) dish recommended by the server, the cauliflower fritti was obviously over-fried. The battering was too thick and it tastes quite oily. (Skip this)

Pizza al Benno, speck pineapple, jalapeno, mozzarella & tomato ($35)

The main character was no doubt the pizza. There are about 20 different pizza to choose from, I normally have the mushroom pizza which my friends and family members enjoyed the most. This time we tried something fresh – with speck pineapple and jalapeño. Yes, a hot pizza.

It was a thin and big pizza that was freshly removed from the stove oven. The pizza crust was still awesome for our liking. The ham works well with the spicy jalapeño and juicy pineapple on the top. But in comparison, the mushroom one is still my favorite. I recommend the pizza(s) here, flavors vary based on personal preference.

Assorted gelato and sorbet ($17) 

Never walk out without having dessert. We picked three flavors from assorted gelato and sorbet – espresso, olive oil, and melon. Out favorite was actually the olive oil flavor, it has a mild savory taste and the olive oil was not awkward at all.

I spent a great time with my friend, the ambiance is very relax and casual that made me feel like in California. Quality comfort food that won’t slim your wallet, a right place to go when you are in a mood of pizza.
