Jamie’s Italian is a famous Italian restaurant opened by the English celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. Located on the ground floor of VivoCity, Jamie’s Italian was designed to offer accessible and affordable authentic Italian food to everyone.
Guests can enjoy a nice harbor view in this modern, chic and breezy feel setting. The interior was decorated with mistached furnitures colored in red and blue to create a comfortable and hommie feeling.
Jamie’s Italian offers rustic and delicious italian food, all the recipes are created fresh from Jamie Oliver’s kitchen in the UK and kept as authentic as possible. Menu and concept are constantly infused by creativity, simplicity and premium quality at the heart of everything we do. Besides the daily lunch and dinner, Jamie’s is now serving hearty breakfast on weekends from 9:30-11:30am.
Fresh Juices ($8.50)
The Works ($19.50) is a signature breakfast item on the menu. It comes in a large-size claypot with toulouse sausage, pork & honey sausage, outdoor-reared streaky bacon,vine-roasted cherry tomatoes, homemade baked beans, garlic & thyme oven-roasted portobello mushroom, fresh spinach & toast and choice of Freedom Range egg.
Unlike other brunch/breakfast places, most of the ingredients in this plate were homemade, which includes baked beans, sausages and bacon. This flourishing plate is definitely a perfect way to kick off a perfect weekend.
Portobello & Egg Buttie ($8.50) with garlic & thyme oven-roasted portobello mushroom & a fried Freedom Range egg was an nice choice for burger lovers. It was hearty, the mushroom was juicy, but nothing really special about the taste.
Smashed Spicy Avocado ($12.50) with toasted ciabatta, vine-roasted cherry tomatoes & Worcestershire sauce was the dish we enjoyed most.
The avocado was creamy and infused by a twist of lemon, which was refreshing. House made ciabatta was soft and fluffy. I love the twist of spice which enhanced the flavor of the entire piece. Everything was nicely balanced – i don’t mind to have this everyday.
We decided to order more but the breakfast kitchen closed already, so we move on to the lunch menu. Highly recommend by the staff, we ordered one portion of Cured Fish & Crispy Fish Planks ($17.00/person) with beetroot-cured salmon, roasted shellfish, smoked mackerel pâté & mini fritto misto with yuzu mayo was a comfort Italian appetizer for share. It was served on a plank loaded with pecorino & chilli jam, music bread, curly green chillies, olives, caper berries & crunchy salad.
The roasted shellfish and smoked mackerel pâté has a crispy outerlayer, the fish inside was tender and juicy.
We were so filling to try more dishes such as the freshly made pasta, but we will definitely come back soon for fresh and value-for-money Italian recipes served up in hearty portions. Diners can also choose the outside seating with a lovely view of the bay.
