There are tons of nice cafes in Melbourne, it is really hard to pick the ‘best’ one to visit for my short Melbourne trip. But if you really planned your trip well and did a lot research, its not difficult to find that The Hardware Société is a MUST-visit cafe in Melbourne. Although i read a lot positive reviews and saw very high ratings of The Hardware Société, i did irresolute for few times as the dishes looks not really drooling, plus people said you have to wait. I finally decided to pay this famous place a visit as i am quite lazy to travel too far from CBD.
Visited: Apr.22rd.2015 (Brunch/Lunch time)
The Hardware Société housed in the heart of Melbourne CBD on Hardware Lane. I was so scared of the long queue before i really visited but luckily there was not queue on the day we went, a Wednesday afternoon around 1pm.
The tea pot was really cute, so suitable for the windy out-door seating.
The most famous baked eggs is definitely a MUST. There are two versions of baked eggs: a non-vegetarian one with chorizo and the one we tried which is vegetarian-friendly. The baked eggs came in a sizzling staub, served with some baguette with pesto sauce.
Help yourself with some freshly baked eggs on the toast- it was indeed a bomb. Underneath there’s a lot vegetables such as spinach and cauliflowers, sounds quite simple but really delciious. It is hard for you to understand how amazing it is, unless you try it by yourself. Seriously, one of the best egg dishes i have ever had.
The lobster benedict is a comparably new dish on the menu. It was served with grilled, soft & fluffy buns, some greens, two perfectly poached eggs and generous portion of fresh lobster.
There aren’t too much seating indoor, mostly shared tables and counter seats. The interior decor is very warm and homme. The staffs were very friendly, and serves food efficiently.
The Hardware Société was the first stop of my Melbourne trip and it was a really great start. I wish i can have such kind of warm and delicious eggs everyday.
