When i was still in Tokyo early this year, i was quite shocked when i found Omotesando Koffee in Omotesando, Tokyo has been closed. I was pretty said for this because i loved their coffee and Zen amabiance.Toranomon Koffee becomes an alternative choice for people who loves Omotesando Koffee. Eiichi Kunimoto, the owner of Omotesando Koffee, decided to relocated in Hong Kong. Last month (June.2016), Omotesando Koffee Hong Kong finally reopned. It is possibly the hottest cafe in Hong Kong recently.
Address: 香港利東街Shop #24-25, G/F., No.200 Queen’s Road East, Wanchai, Hong Kong
Hours: 9:00-19:00 Daily
Omotesando Koffee housed in the basedment of a residential complex Lee Tung Avenue in the heart of Wanchai, along with several other F&B and retailer operations. The shop front is simple and trendy which tells its Japanese background.
To aviod the crowd, we arrived in a weekday morning around 11am, right after our breakfast at Capital Cafe. It was unexpectedly deserted that we headed to order without a second waiting in line. On the menu, you may find the beloved coffee and sweets like what you had in Tokyo: omotesando koffee ($38), espresso ($32/40), hand drip coffee ($68), espresso ristretto ($40), espresso macchiato ($40), latte ($42/50), cappuccino ($42/50), mocha ($52), and matcha latte ($42). Green tea brownie ($25) and canele called ‘kashi’ ($18) are also still available.
Ice cappuccino – Omotesando Koffee’s best seller and my personal favorite. The lovely bubbles on the top is actually one thing that impressed most people, don’t be surprised when you find your coffee has no bubbles – be patient and wait for 1-2 mintues 🙂 I requested for non-sugar and it was pretty nice. The fresh cream on the top gives a rich and creamy finish.
A coffee break at Omotesando Koffee is imcomplete without the signature sweet ‘Kashi’, or a baked custard like Canele. Inside its caramelized crust lies moist and slightly chewy custard. Always the best friend of a cup of coffee here.
