Last Visit: Sep.4th.2015
Address:東京都渋谷区神宮前5-51-8 ラ・ポルト青山 1・2F
Hours: 1F Boutique 11:00～20:00, 2F Bar chocolat 12:00～20:00
There are 10 bar seats facing the main street of Aoyama on the second floor, with two tables for larger party size (about 4 pax). My first visit was on weekend afternoon, it was packed thus we waited about 20 minutes. This visit was made on a weekday afternoon, and it was only 50% occupied, lucky me.
The menu is divided into pastries, cakes, macarons, afternoon tea sets, ice creams and drinks. Pierre Herme's macarons are my favorite, i prefer it much over Laduree's and Aoki's. But as macarons are also available in Hong Kong and some other cities, and i can take them home, i decided to try some other cakes i haven't tried before.
Once i placed order, the server kindly offers some chocolates as a treat. I loved the 4th one, which has cacao nibs inside, the dark ones were neither too bitter but pretty creamy. Lovely
Any tea or coffee comes with a complimentary Madalaine. Moderate sweet, buttery and airy.
Last time i had the most popular Ispahan, which is a huge macaron filled with fresh raspberry and Ispahan cream inside. I have also tried the classical Caramel Millefeuille, Mont Blanc and another seasonal Millefeuille (i forgot the name of it) before. So i picked the Millefeuille Ispahan, which is only availbale in Tokyo for the month of September. Yes, not even available in Pierre Hereme's hometown Paris.
Pierre Hereme's pastry never fails - incredibly flaky and crunchy, very lovely caramelized flavor. Ispahan cream was made of lychee, rose and raspberry, which has moderate sweetness with a hint of sour. Icredible aromatic and the flavor balanced very well. It never tastes like a piece of high-calorie cake!
Grabing some macarons home have become my fixed routine. Anyway, will definitely keep coming back, looking forward to more limited seasonal products as well!
