Cathay Pacific Business Class, 777-300, SIN-HKG

A throw back to my flight from Singapore Changi Airport layover in Hong Kong fro 2 days, the final destination was Hangzhou, China. Normally i fly with Singapore Airlines to Shanghai when i go back to China, but this time i decided to layover in Hong Kong because 'layover' is the best excuse to visit more restaurants in this case :p

I was around 2pm when i arrived the lounge, there weren't too much food offered expect Indian curry and rice as well as curry puffs, assorted sandwiches, two fried dishes, one pasta and one soup and a salad bar.

The food didn't look nice enough even though i didn't had lunch, i ended up with heading to Starbucks and buy my late lunch and coffee. The staff inside were not warm neither.

The flight was delayed an hour due to late departure from Hong Kong. It was an quite old boeing 773 with layout of 2-3-2 in business class.

Dinner was served around 8pm. Firstly arrived appetisers. My partner had vegetarian meal which includes salad of assorted mushroom instead of the regular salmon confit i had. On the side you may find an oriental salad and a wired jelly. Bread service include three kinds of bread and i picked the wholegrain bread, so hard and so dry :(

Main course for vegetarian meal was fried rice noodles with bok choy and bean curd. The rice noodles was over-heated and the toppings tastes bland. My friend said even the Oriental Vegetarian Meal in Economy class tastes much better (which was usually rice and fried vegetables).

Mine braised beef cheek with Swiss style barley and vegetables was not too bad in comparison. I didn't finish the beef as it was too tough, bu the barley was enjoyable.

The experience with this flight was okay, nothing memorable compare to Singapore Airlines, JAL and ANA.

Back in Hong Kong International Airport after two days for my flight for home. The Cabin Lounge in HKG was nicer than Dnata in Singapore Changi, but over-crowded. There was much more food selections which is more friendly to foodies.

Dinner on this flight offered Chinese food by the chef from Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, since i always prefer seafood over pork, i had seafood pasta this time instead of the celebrity's course. Although he pasta was just supermarket-standard, the seafood was surprisingly very tender and juicy which was above average standard.
